Dihydroxyacetone (DHA): is a colorless sugar that reacts with the amino acids of keratin found in the stratum corneum, producing a brown pigment called melanoidin. This pigment accumulates in the skin and provides a tanned appearance. This reaction occurs only in the superficial layer of the skin, it does not penetrate into the deeper layers and does not affect the underlying tissues.
Erythrulose: is a keto sugar similar in structure to DHA. This ingredient produces a natural-looking tan. Its use allows to increase the duration of the tan and provide a more natural tone.
